Our History & Leadership

The Foundation The Sayadaw granted permission to use a 200-foot plot of land within the school compound of the Taung Salin Taikthit Monastery, which became our first headquarters. During these critical early years, the association was guided by the wisdom of Ludu Daw Ama, one of Myanmar’s most respected literary figures and social patrons.

From Compassion to Action (1998 - Present)

On May 7, 1998 (10th Waxing of Kason 1360 ME), the Brahmaso Humanitarian Aids Organization was established in Mandalay. The organization was born from the deep compassion of Venerable Sayadaw Bhaddanta Teikkha (Presiding Nayaka of the Taung Salin New Monastery), who witnessed the struggles of the poor in facing sickness and death.

Activity 1

The First Steps Our journey began with funeral assistance. Momentum grew when Nadi Myanmar U Aung Khaing and Daw Nyo Mi’s family donated the organization's first hearse. This allowed us to provide dignified funeral services to those lacking financial means.

Expanding to Healthcare On April 4, 2000, recognizing that our community needed more than just aid in death, we began providing medical assistance to the living. Initially, this involved financial aid for hospital expenses—helping patients at a rate of up to 200,000 MMK per day.
Today, this vision has evolved into a fully operational system including an Outpatient Clinic and a Renal haemo-dialysis Department with 51 dialysis machines.

For Patients with eye problems, major surgeries such as cataract removal and intraocular lens implantation, minor surgeries, and general eye diseases have been treated.
Patients with Dental problems of various kinds have also been given dental care.
